Some of you might be wondering what it means to raise your vibration.

To understand what it means to raise your vibration, first you have to understand the definition of what vibration means. There are several different definitions, but the one that resonates most is Wikipedia’s definition of Free Vibration:

  • Free vibration occurs when a mechanical system is set in motion with an initial input and allowed to vibrate freely. Examples of this type of vibration are pulling a child back on a swing and letting it go, or hitting a tuning fork and letting it ring. The mechanical system vibrates at one or more of its natural frequencies and damps down to motionlessness.

When you raise your vibration, you become more in tune with your intuition and emotions. This helps you to better understand yourself on a deeper level. When you become aware of how powerful your thoughts are, you start to realize you have more control over your experiences than you think. It’s pretty amazing, actually.

I’m guessing that now you’re wondering how raising your vibration helps with depression. You’re probably also wondering how the hell you’re supposed to do this when you’re depressed. Especially when it’s hard enough just to force yourself up out of your bed every day.

Well, I’m here to tell you, it IS possible, because this is exactly what I’ve been doing to pull myself out of my own depression. Honestly, the deepest depression I had fallen into in a very long time. By working on raising my vibration, I was able to climb out of the darkness ON MY OWN. No counselors, no therapy, no drugs.

Now I bet you’re wondering how the hell I managed to do this. I’m going to share with you exactly what I did to accomplish this.

 

Raising your vibration when you’re depressed

My depression is ultimately what set this into motion for me. I was in such a dark place, and it was scaring the shit out of me. Panic and fear started to take over, and that’s when I knew I had to do something, and fast. I have always felt connected to Spirituality, so I started this journey using nightly meditation videos I found on YouTube. Every night at bedtime, I listen to them using earbuds as I fall asleep.

But meditation alone wasn’t enough to pull me out of this depression. I started to feel even more desperate, so I started looking for videos on quieting the mind, letting go of anger and resentment, etc. These searches then led me to other videos, and I ended up coming across this one:

 

 

I put genuine intention into listening and learning to the lessons given in these videos. The messages began to resonate with me deeply. The more I learned, the more I wanted to learn. Slowly, I began to feel better. The moment I felt that shift within myself, I knew I was on the right path. I knew everything was going to be ok.

I found another video talking about how raising your vibration can help with improving your life by attracting more positivity into your life. I’m a contributor on Quora, so I reached out to the community for more information on this subject.

One answer captured my attention, so much so, it was actually the inspiration behind writing this. It was so deep, so profound, I knew I had to share it with as many people as I could.

I asked the question:

 

How do I strengthen my intuition and raise my vibration?

Here’s the response one Quora user left –

You “gain” intuition by raising your vibration, as intuition is nothing but a heightened sense of awareness to the energetic data received from existence. Its lack of clarity or its inconsistencies are only in the interpreter’s assimilation of this data.

We have moved from understanding things with our heart (which is to say a compassionate, loving, acceptance of all that IS) and have moved our perception into the mind, which is secondary, as it is subjective. In doing so, we have all co-created this current idea of reality.

This was the meaning behind the parable in the “Garden of Eden”. It wasn’t until they “ate of the fruit of good and evil” that they began to “think”, which is to say the the discriminatory, limited, biased, subjective interpretive mind that measures things through opposites.. as this subjective reality, is only the temporary and therefore illusory creativity of manifestation.

A byproduct of this misdirected attention into the mind, came the many psychological dysfunctions such as dissociative disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, bipolar disorder and many more, that are all due to attempts to understand ideas, desires and fulfillment through the intellect. This is also why they stand as incurable by medicines and therapies alike, subsisting on their subversion instead.

The many misinterpreted ideas are only due to the fundamental truth that we currently don’t know how to discern what is of the mind and what we connect to as true through the akasha or the ethereal collective experience of the all. This was or is the function of the heart, to experience existence with joy and exuberation towards expansion, but we have lost this through materiality and believing in a static reality.

How did this happen?

Because…somewhere along the line, someone realized they could gain power over others if this innate power of human intuition was belittled, marginalized and demonized. As was the majority of spirituality taught by the great teachers and cultures of the past. The power of earthly and feminine energies has been suppressed and campaigned against for centuries.

As another byproduct of an over assertion of gaining knowledge is that we have those scientific minds that believe in what they know is the ONLY truth which means verifiable evidence. Ironically dogmatic for a sect of minds whose whole premise is based on a search for truth, while completely dismissing the impetuous for all creation, namely thought, feeling and unconditional love.

So.. to raise your vibration, which just means that we let go of less evolved ideas, actions and beliefs, we must let go of limiting thoughts that coincide and confirm their existence. Abide in the truth of higher principles which are all self evident (don’t steal, lie, kill, covet). Be of service to others. Love yourself continuously, while knowing too, that we are all one. Gaze into your environment and see the creator in everything. It’s not hard once you have subdued the minds silly influence.

Just be still… (preferably in nature) and look with the wonder of a child, no ideas, let thoughts go as quickly as they come, just look and after some time you will be overcome with joy as tears begin to stream from your eyes, at the glory that is. It may not happen the first time but I promise it will, for this is divine law. Each effort made will set into motion the ease of the next attempt for we must overcome the years of momentum in the wrong direction. But it comes much faster due to it aligning with our truer self.

Seek and ye shall find, then you will rejoice in the ease in which it happens. Because up until then, you realize that it was the mind that was in the way the whole time.

I was genuinely amazed at the power and truth in this answer.

To be honest, I still am. I have read this response over and over, and every time I read it, I get goosebumps. These words have affected me in a way I cannot even describe. I’m looking at everything around me with a completely new perspective. These words have already begun to change my life. I am so grateful this person took time out of their day to send me this powerful message of truth.

I think what resonated with me the most were the words at the end of this eloquent response –  “Because up until then, you realize that it was the mind that was in the way the whole time”. Anyone who struggles with depression, anxiety, overthinking, etc. knows how powerful thoughts can be.

This was my “aha” moment. Reading those words made me understand that a lot of what I was going through was, although unintentional, of my own doing. I was allowing my mind to get the best of me. Once I opened my eyes to the truth of this, I knew then that I had the power to change how I was feeling, and how I was responding.

I’ve found several channels on YouTube that I’ve now subscribed to that talk more about raising your vibration, as well as clearing your mind. I’ve also found more awesome meditation videos, which I continue to listen to every day.

I know I still have so much more to learn, and like anything else, it takes time and practice. I feel better than I have in a long time, and I plan to do everything in my power to continue to grow.
