These gift ideas for anxiety are coming from someone who knows all too well what it’s like to struggle with anxiety.

Not only am I going to recommend things that I already use to help with my symptoms, I’m also going to include some gifts that I would love to receive myself!

Shopping for others can be hard enough as it is, so I wanted to help make it a little easier. When you know someone who is struggling, finding gift ideas for anxiety that can actually help someone feel better is an amazing thing. It’s also very meaningful, it lets them know you care about their struggles.

That can be one of the hardest parts of having anxiety. A lot of times, we feel so misunderstood. Something as simple as a gift can say so much more than words can express. This is what inspired me to put together these thoughtful and creative gift ideas for anxiety symptom relief.

These gift ideas are great for giving at Christmas, for birthdays, or even just because!

Bonus: Did you know an emotional support dog could make a big difference in a person’s life who suffers from anxiety? This is one amazing gift that keeps on giving.

1. Flax Seed Eye Pillow with Lavender Buds

Ok, I have tried several different kinds of microwavable heat pads, but this one is by far my favorite. I love that it’s handmade, AND it’s infused with Lavender buds, so it smells amazing! Anyone who is familiar with “bed buddy” knows it doesn’t really smell too great. It’s also filled with natural flax seed, and comes with a matching slip cover to help protect the fabric.

You can also use this as a cold compress, which I love as well. This eye pillow is perfect for relief from migraines, headaches, stress, anxiety, and can even be used as a sleep aid.

2. Healthmate EMS/TENS unit

I have this exact TENS unit, and I absolutely LOVE it. It is one of the best things I’ve ever owned. Using it is the most relaxing experience, and it 100% works. My shoulders and back are always tense, and when they start to tighten to the point where I can’t deal with it anymore, I grab my TENS unit, stick my pads on, and kick back and let it work its magic.

The reason I bought this was because I was having severe tension in my shoulder and neck muscles on my left side. Nothing I tried would loosen them up, and this went on for two months. After talking to my Dr., she recommended I try a TENS unit, so I decided to give it a try. I’m so thankful I did, after just a few days of using it, my muscle tension and pain were completely gone! Honestly, I was very surprised, and couldn’t believe it actually worked.

Here’s a pic of mine –

It has multiple modes, you can plug in as few or as many electrodes as you’d like, and it has several levels of intensity. I really can’t say enough about this thing, it really has been a lifesaver for me. Also – definitely get the electrode gel to put on the pads, it helps them stick to the skin and provides a better connection for better results.

3. Weighted blankets

I have an obsession with blankets, so obviously these weighted blankets are on my list. This is one product I have yet to try, but you can bet your butt cheeks I’ll be getting one this year! Everyone loves journals, so this is one gift you can’t go wrong with. They’re perfect for all ages too, my teenage daughter is actually a little obsessed with them. Journals make great gift ideas for anxiety sufferers. They’re great for getting your thoughts out, venting, and tracking anxiety triggers.

With so many fun styles, designs and colors, writing journals really have come a long way. There are even writing journals with journal prompts to give you ideas on different topics to write about, and help with self discovery. Journaling really is a healthy and therapeutic release.

6. ZenGuru Acupressure Mat & Pillow Set

This acupressure mat is perfect for relieving tension in the muscles due to anxiety and stress. A friend of mine owns one, and she swears by it. It works by using the acupressure points on the mat to stimulate endorphines and oxytocin release by activating sensory nerves, and increasing circulation in the body.

Benefits of the acupressure mat:

  • Significantly improved relaxation and stress relief
  • Decreased muscle tension and stiffness
  • Diminished pain such as in the back, legs and neck
  • Relief of tension headaches
  • Improved sleep

I’m a huge fan of any kind of natural ways that help with anxiety, depression and stress. The ZenGuru acupressure mat does that and more. I also really like the neck pillow feature, and that it’s easy to take with you anywhere.
